Soverin is a private company run by a few internet enthusiasts who want to create great products that are safe, beautiful and easy to use. We are an honest alternative to ‘free’ email. Same experience, different principles. If you want to get know us better check the About us page, our manifest, sign up for our newsletter or just ask us anything via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Soverin is registered, build, hosted and maintained in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (Europe).
Privacy matters. We’re not interested in acquiring personal data or building user profiles. Your data is truly your data.
Our servers run in a datacenter that fully runs on ‘renewable power’.
2. Getting Started
We tried to make the sign up as easy and fun as possible via our homepage. Still having trouble? Send us an email via email@example.com and we will gladly help you get started!
When buying a Soverin account you can take your old email with you and migrate it towards your Soverin account. Within the dashboard you can find the function ’email migrations’. Fill in the details and we will start transferring your email! In case you need help, feel free to contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org. Oh and don’t forget to turn on your ‘out of office’ message on your old email account saying you switched from ‘free’ to ‘freedom’!
Just hold on, some providers take some time to process our text messages. We need to send them all over the world. If you haven’t received the code after a few minutes check the phone number you have entered and click on ‘resend code’. Still no code? Send us an email via email@example.com and we will contact you as soon as possible!
If you left the Soverin registration process after entering and saving your password you have a Soverin account. Within 24 hours you can login to the dashboard, click on ‘add time’ in the payment menu and finish your registration. After 24 hours the username will automatically become available for registration again.
Not yet, but stay tuned! In the mean time you can start using Soverin for private purposes first, as privacy and professionalism are too important to ignore.

The year price paid for a Soverin account will never be changed in the same year. We value honesty, therefore a price change will always be communicated timely and openly to our Soverin users.
Yes! Soverin is ‘client independent’, which means that we are able to offer you more options for webmail. Currently we are using Roundcube 1.2 with some extra features that make life al little bit easier. Alternatively we also have a webmail available powered by Rainloop. The Rainloop webmail is provided as an extra service and is considered *beta*. Let us know if you have any feedback via firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’d hate to see you leave so maybe before deleting your account, send us an email telling us that you’re considering to delete your account. We go through great lengths to keep you aboard! Still want to leave? There’s a red button in your dashboard that lets you delete your account. Please be very careful hitting that button. Your account will be disabled instantly and deleted completely (including backups) after 24 hours.
Yes! We are using the IMAP protocol, this means it is available on most major mail clients/apps (like iPad,iPhone,Android Phone, Laptop etc.).
It is possible to import your data to a new provider. Please make sure to do this before hitting the ‘delete my account’ button. After deleting your account, your mailbox and the keys to the backup will be deleted within maximum 24 hours. For questions, feel free to contact us via email@example.com.
Yes, of course! Soon you will also have a calendar, notes and a contact list. And you’re always free to share your feedback with us via firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have connected a stand-alone domain name to your Soverin mailbox and bought via Soverin you can extend the domain name via your dashboard.
Go to “Domains” -> click “Manage” and then “Settings” and scroll down. At the bottom of the pagina you’ll find a button “Buy time”. With this button you can extend/renew the domain.
Go to the dashboard. Click on ‘change password’. Type your current password and your new password (twice). This should work! If not, send us an email via email@example.com.
Go to the dashboard. Click on ‘change phone number’. Type your password and your new phone number. This should work! If not, send us an email via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Usually deleted emails end up in the trash folder of your mail client. If you have just emptied your trash you are out of luck, your email is gone. Remember, we don’t read your emails nor do we profile you for advertising, and so we are not interested in your trash either;)

There are different ways of providing people with an email account, none of them are really free. Free means you pay with your data. While lots of companies make their money with advertising, we chose to build an honest alternative. We chose to charge money for our service.
Think about what’s in your inbox. It holds the most intimate details of your life, it’s like a database of your life. The data deserves to be protected!
